Found on Nai Yang Beach, not far from Phuket International Airport on the island s west coast, the brand-new Marriott resort offers 180 spaces, suites and swimming pool rental properties.
Facilities consist of two dining establishments the international Andaman Kitchen and beachfront Big Fish Restaurant & Bar plus a lobby lounge, a large lagoon-style swimming pool, 24-hour fitness Centre, medical spa and pirate-themed kids club. And for the MICE market, the resort includes 228m of occasion space consisting of a 126m ballroom.
The new resort types part of a significant agreement with Thailand s TCC Land for the rebranding of multiple properties.
In 2013, we signed a contract with TCC Land Asset World to develop seven hotels and resorts in Thailand. We successfully opened Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa in March and are delighted to welcome this Phuket resort under our flagship Marriott Hotels brand name, said Karl Hudson, Marriott’s area vice president for Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Cambodia & Japan.
The Hua Hin and Phuket openings will be followed by the relaunch of Bangkok s largest hotel, the previous Imperial Queen’s Park, which will be rebranded as a Marriott later on in 2012.
Marriott now operates a total of 18 hotels in Thailand, consisting of four in Phuket.
